Inclusion in practice

At Service Stream, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are central to how we operate – not just as values, but as a structured plan with clear actions and accountability.

Recruitment and onboarding

  • Our recruitment and hiring process has been fully reviewed to remove bias, including bias related to neurodiversity and disability. Every job advertisement includes a statement reflecting our commitment to diversity.

  • Our Neuro-inclusive Recruitment Guide provides talent teams and hiring managers with practical guidance on supporting and accommodating neurodivergent candidates throughout the recruitment process.

Day-to-day team practices

  • Supporting Neurodivergence at Service Stream is a resource co-designed with neurodivergent staff that gives managers and colleagues practical, everyday strategies for being more neuroinclusive at work.

  • A Neurodiversity Advocacy Process is also in place, empowering neurodivergent employees and their managers to seek support in developing accommodations.

Support and adjustments

  • Our Neurodiversity Listening Circles give neurodivergent staff and staff who are carers of neurodivergent family members a structured space to share their experiences, challenges, and recommendations. These groups are led by our Executive Sponsor for Neurodiversity, Chief Information Officer Douglas Young, and Senior Manager for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, James Smith.

Learning and development

  • In 2024, Service Stream partnered with Amaze, to become the first company in our industries to complete the A-Plus Inclusion Program. 50 staff participated, including People & Experience, Health & Safety, Operations, and executive leadership.

  • Through the program, managers and People & Culture professionals built practical skills in applying universal design concepts to make recruitment and management more inclusive of different neurotypes. Staff have also completed training in Attracting Diverse Talent and Unconscious Bias.
